Plant Kindness

Ecological Fine Gardening in Portland, Oregon

Plant Kindness provides eco-friendly fine gardening and long-term garden maintenance for Portland homeowners who see their landscapes as living ecosystems.

Using chemical-free, low-noise practices, Plant Kindness supports native-forward plantings, established ornamental beds, edible gardens, and lawn-to-garden transitions.

Rooted in trust, communication, integrity, and environmental responsibility, the work centers on stewardship and long-term relationships — not just landscaping.

Services

I provide ecological fine gardening and long-term maintenance for established landscapes. My work includes plant identification, detailed weeding, pruning, planting, and mulching. I do not provide lawn mowing services.

I specialize in chemical-free, low-noise garden maintenance that considers the impact of our practices on soil, water, wildlife, and the broader community.

Though I have a deep love for native plantscaping, I enjoy working with all plants, including ornamentals, herbs, vegetables, and fruit trees.

In addition to ongoing maintenance, I offer consultation and design support for lawn-to-garden transitions. For larger-scale projects beyond my scope, I will provide a trusted referral.

At the heart of Plant Kindness is relationship-based service. I value trust, communication, and integrity, and strive to build professional, respectful relationships with the people whose gardens I care for.

If you are interested in eco-friendly garden maintenance, I would love to learn about your space.

Rates

Garden Maintenance

Ongoing garden maintenance is billed at $60 per hour, with a two-hour minimum per visit.

Most clients schedule monthly maintenance, which helps gardens stay healthy, manageable, and beautiful throughout the year.

If you’re unsure what schedule is right for your garden, I’m happy to discuss options during an initial conversation.

Lawn-Garden Conversion

Plant Kindness offers consultation and design support for homeowners interested in transitioning lawn areas into garden space. These projects may include site assessment, plant selection, soil improvement strategies, and phased implementation.

Because every property and project is different, lawn-to-garden conversions are priced based on scope and complexity. Smaller projects may be completed directly through Plant Kindness, while larger installations may require collaboration with or referral to trusted landscape professionals.

If you're considering converting part of your lawn into a garden, I’m happy to discuss possibilities and help determine the best path forward.
